Scottsdale Education Center was founded in 2000 by two teachers. The continuing mission of the company is to provide individualized, quality tutoring instruction to students with academic needs outside of school hours. This mission is accomplished in small group settings in which certified teachers guide, direct, and tutor students. Subject areas tutored range from basic math and language studies to all sciences, foreign languages, keyboarding, and organizational/study skills. Special preparatory classes are also offered for AIMS, SAT/ACT, GED, and various high school entrance exams. Students being tutored at Scottsdale Education Center will find a challenging curriculum presented by tutors who not only teach, but mentor students as well. SEC tutors strive to see that every student receives proper tutoring resulting in mastery of concepts and enhanced self-confidence. It is only when students feel secure and confident in challenging subjects that they can truly learn to become successful, independent learners, and this is the main goal accomplished at Scottsdale Education Center.

What makes SEC unique is a blend of academic tutoring and personal mentorship. In addition, our tutors are certified teaching professionals who are specialized in various areas. Rather than required initial and expensive diagnostic testing, tutors are trained to focus on immediate areas of concern and then to enrich or remediate. One of the most requested services at Scottsdale Education Center is our exclusive academic accountability tracking, which involves pulling a student's grades on a weekly basis. With these services, the main goals at SEC are to improve academics and to provide a relationship of accountability and encouragement, resulting in a strong sense of confidence and success.
