Pre-Algebra
SEC's pre-algebra program begins by reviewing core math skills. Because of the importance of Algebra 1, students in pre-algebra are given a strong foundation for high school and beyond. Some of the skills that will be focused on in these tutoring sessions include:
Algebra 1
Algebra is the backbone of higher level math. Strong skills in algebra help ensure future success. Scottsdale Education Center's Algebra I program program is highly structured and includes the following topics:
- Proofs and theorems
- Triangles and quadrilaterals
- Circles and three-dimensional figures
- Similar triangles and transformations
- Foundations -- reasoning, angles and lines
- Advanced triangle applications
- Polynomials
- Quadratic Equations
- Trigonometry
- Equations and inequalities
- Statistics and probability
- Exponential expressions and functions
Geometry
SEC's geometry tutoring program is geared to help students excel in their current geometry program, or to aid them in problem areas. Some of the major areas of study include:
Algebra 2/3
Scottsdale Education Center's Algebra 2 program builds upon the areas of focus in Algebra 1, leading into basic trigonometry principles:
This program will help improve students' skills and prepare them for advanced high-school and beginning college coursework.
Pre-Calculus / Calculus / Advanced Calculus
Concentration is focused on mathematical functions used to identify domain and range. Concepts are solidified in finding inverses, graphing, and solving real-world problems.
Trigonometry
Trigonomic relationships and functions are practiced in a variety of problem situations.
