Test Taking Strategies/Study and Organizational Skills
Students at all levels will benefit from
improved standardized test taking as well
as study and time management skills. This class will enable students of all ages to develop
test taking skills focused on all tests: standardized and
regular. In addition, students will develop personal
study and time management skills that work best for
their individual learning styles and academic needs.
Students learn to work productively within the busy time
schedules and constraints of today's family.

Getting Ready to Succeed in Middle School
Essential for 2009/2010 6th graders and struggling 7th graders, this class will help develop necessary study skill for middle school success and help overcome some of the anxieties of transitioning to the middle school campus. Organization, planning, remembering information, and middle school life skills will be focus areas. Start middle school with confidence. 12 hours of instruction. Mountainside and Cocopah. Cost: $275
Getting Ready to Succeed in High School - Standard
A MUST for incoming Fall 2009 freshmen and struggling sophomores. Build strong study skills, resource knowledge, writing skills, keys to overcome test and math anxiety, and confidence to succeed in high School. 12 hours of instruction at DMHS or Chaparral. High School Programs
SAT Ready Class
SEC engages students in a comprehensive SAT preparation class which targets either language or math skills. In addition to test-taking strategies, SEC teachers go further, actually teaching concepts. Students take three practice tests at intervals in order to measure progress. In preparation for the writing block, students actually write a timedessay each week which is then graded and analyzed. ACT Ready Class
SEC engages students in a 16-hour comprehensive ACT preparation class spread over 8 sessions, covering the 4 main sections of the ACT (Reading, English, Math and Science). Students will take a practice test for each section throughout the course of the class, while learning tips and strategies to get through the test effectively and efficiently. Subject areas will be broken down per week by our highly qualified teachers, allowing the students to get an in-depth look at the specific section of the test and what it entails.
